Private Lessons
Brittany Goodwin, professional performer, published author,
Arts Center staff member and co-owner of Every New Day Pictures film production company, is now offering private lessons at the Arts Center of Cannon County in the areas of vocal technique and performance, stage and film acting, and introduction to piano. With over 20 years of experience, including nationwide stage and film credentials, Brittany has spent the last nine years working with students of all ages and allowing them to enhance their talents and develop new skills under her direction. For singers, Brittany specializes in pop, rock and musical theatre vocal styling. She works with students to push their voices and expand their vocal range safely, while learning breathing and performance techniques. Acting students will learn a natural acting technique, as taught by Harold Guskin in his book "How to Stop Acting". Brittany works with actors to develop real characters and feel what they are acting out, not fake it. Focus on stage or film acting is geared toward each student’s goals and interests. The Alfred Curriculum is used for piano students, working with theory, lesson, and recital books. Brittany stresses that lessons are a "safe zone" where a student can push themselves harder than they ever thought possible and make mistakes they can learn from, developing a sense of confidence which is important in all areas of training. Lessons take place at The Arts Center Tuesday-Friday, year round.
