Theater for Schools

In our School Matinee Program, teachers have the opportunity to bring their class to a one-act performance geared towards students, featuring adult and student performers. Often, students will even have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the cast following the show! The Farmers Market Pavilion and Cannon Hall are available to use for lunch before or after the show- if you are interested in bringing sack lunches to the Arts Center please mention it  in the comment section when filling out your contact form (below).

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
School Show dates: Dec. 5,6,10,11,12,13
9:30 and 11:30 shows on each date

This C.S. Lewis' classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan's resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

Mr. Popper's Penguins
School Show Dates: April 28,29,30,May 5,6,7
9:30 and 11:30 shows on each date
This charming tale touches the heart – with lots of laughs along the way! It is hard enough for Mr. Popper, a simple painter, to support himself and his family. The addition of twelve penguins makes it impossible to make both ends meet – until Mr. Popper has a splendid idea. He will turn the talented penguins into a traveling vaudeville act! And that’s exactly what he does. The entire family will delight in the adventures of Mr. Popper and his “performing” feathered friends.
