Education at the Arts Center
"Helping kids reach a new stage" means more to us at The Arts Center than just providing performances for students to attend. From Summer Youth Conservatory to our School Matinee Program, we are committed to helping kids of all ages experience the arts through a hands on approach. Theater for Kids In Summer Youth Conservatory, students learn the basics of acting, stage movement and voice and have an opportunity to be part of the creation of a show that is performed at the end of each session. Family Friendly, one-act performances are also showing at various times throughout the year. Visit Theater for Kids for more information. Theater for Schools In the School Matinee program students may audition for roles in shows as well as volunteer to work backstage. Every effort is made to cooperate with teachers and school administrators to make it possible for students to perform in shows during school hours. Daytime performances are available for field trips and can accommodate large school groups, subject to availability. Visit Theater for Schools or Theater for Homeschoolers for more information and to submit a field trip request. Ongoing Education The Private Lesson program at the Arts Center allows students of all ages and levels to work one-on-one with an instructor in the areas on acting, singing, and piano. Audition coaching is also available by request. |
